Former home to Philip and Son ship builders, Noss on Dart marina was purchased in 2015 by Premier Marinas, adding to their already impressive marina portfolio. The brief from the client was to create a vibrant, sustainable destination where users and visitors alike can enjoy everything the River Dart has to offer. The existing brownfield site had a collection of derelict and dilapidated structures which required complete re-development. As part of the overall masterplanning, the brief from the client was to create a stand out building on the banks of the River Dart that could be seen and enjoyed from the approach to the site and from the river itself. With the asymmetric roof and timber cladding, it was designed with inspiration from other local historic waterside buildings such as Sandquay and Baltic Wharf.
